Earlier this week Creative Commons Australia, in conjunction with the OAK Law project and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation, played host to Mia Garlick, General Counsel of Creative Commons in San Francisco. While she was here, Mia met with a number of representatives of Australian universities, government and industry. This included participating in a full day seminar-workshop on the Creative Commons project with QUT researchers and representatives of the Queensland Government. Mia’s visit provided a valuable opportunity for the CC-AU team to learn more about recent developments in Creative Commons and discuss potential projects for its further implementation in Australia.
